Today’s article features one of my favourite shirtdress. I know I might have say this countless times about shirtdresses but really, this one has the perfect stripes, length, thickness and pockets! Well, I probably say something else another day but right now, this one from Pink Aisle will do for me :) I mean, seriously guys, one can never have too many shirtdresses right?! They are like my favourite after ripped shorts!

The other day I was just showing the boy a picture of a shirtdress and asked him his thoughts on it and he gave me a puzzled look. He said it either has to be a dress or a shirt, there is no such thing as a shirtdress. #thingsmyboyfriendsays However that being said, it is still a very casual-sexy look that when not worn properly might look a little inappropriate…. You know the look when you comes out of your boyfriend’s bedroom in the morning… But seriously that look only happens in the TV shows and movies, how many of you actually wear a shirt to bed? Or pick a shirt out and wear it absentmindedly in the morning? No really, I’m seriously asking here.

That aside, this stripey piece here followed me to Uluwatu, Bali and I had much fun (and hesitation initially) trekking through the soggy rice paddy fields. Paired it with my old but trusty straw hat and I think this look fits in just right!

Fiona and I met the sweetest paddy field worker who, despite the communication barrier, held our hands and brought us around the soggy field and occasionally laughed at us when we were scared to make a jump or cross a small drain or when we were freaked out by some unknown scary looking insects. Haha. She just stood there and watched us shoot the whole time and half way through, plucked a tiny flower and asked to put it on my ear.

It really warms my heart to know sometimes, there are people who have zero ill intentions and just want the best for others. This lady here, prolly for most part of her life, led a really simple lifestyle and I can tell that she is truly happy and contented with what she has. The villagers do not crave for the kind of lifestyle we have – constant 4G on the phone, neverending competition with each other, the latest gadgets, the trendiest clothes, be seen at the hottest clubs or have food that piqued our tastebuds anytime we want.

They have nothing like that but a simple life and a heart full of love. I mean if your surroundings aren’t influenced by social media and stuffs, then you won’t get the desire to e.g own this raddest pair of sneakers right? All they do is bring food to the table, and to OUR tables and have families and friends close. This is why I am always so interested in all the kampung stories my mom used to tell me because it amazes me to know how they find joy in the simplest things in life and here I am, ashamed that I am not even satisfied with my Iphone 5s. I know it is their culture so it is unfair to compare with ours but really, I wish we could all take a step back and learn from them a little. Maybe it’s time to put down our phones for awhile, spend some quality time with our family and pet or maybe even build a terrarium from scratch (this is very random but I’ve always wanted to learn how to build one heh so).

Chill and spread love people!
