Denim has and will always be a staple in my wardrobe. I find myself reaching out for anything denim almost every day… Be it a pair of shredded denim shorts, skinny jeans or a basic denim shirt. So ever since I saw this cute denim off shoulder on Creaade, I can’t stop thinking about it and boy, am I glad that I managed to snag one of the last few pieces!
Decided to do a full denim look so here I paired it with a studded shredded shorts that my mom disapproved of.

ONE DROP LOCKS UP AN OCEAN
6 June 2016
As you know, my job requires me shuffle between photo shoots under the hot sun and cold studio for long hours. The constant shuffling between different environments affects the condition of my skin and that means I also have to take extra care to ensure my skin remains in tip-top condition. One of the simple ways to keep my skin healthy is to ensure that it’s always hydrated. Today I’m going to share with you something more about getting your skin hydrated.
We all know how important hydration is. But do you know that hydration and moisturization are totally different?
Moisturizing helps to make the skin soft and smooth. It nourishes the surface of your skin, and forms a barrier film to protect any water loss.
However, hydration makes the skin plump and supple. Hydrating products are designed to increase the water content of your skin by replenishing the water or moisture to your skin cells hence it should be the very first step of your skin care regime. If you don’t hydrate well, it doesn’t help no matter how much you moisturize because your skin is thirsty. Furthermore, when your skin is dehydrated, the dryness will gradually lead to skin roughness and bumps appear. To compensate for the lack of hydration, your skin over produces sebum which will in turn cause oiliness and lead to breakouts. If this continues for a long time, your skin will eventually form fine lines and wrinkles too.
Interesting theory right?
So if you think your current skincare products works both ways, think again! Are you really hydrating your face or just moisturizing? Both hydration and moisturisation need to come hand-in-hand!
Today, I’ll share with you about Hada Labo. This is definitely not a new brand to anyone who takes care of their skin but do you know that Hada Labo, being an expert on hydration, has invested years in the study of Hyaluronic Acid? It is this ingredient that locks in all that moisture in the different layers of skin!!!
Hada Labo’s research in the study of Hyaluronic Acid is the key to the hydration power of their products. In 1 bottle of Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion, there are actually 4 different sizes of HA. Large-sized HA is predominantly on the surface of the skin, preventing water loss by forming a layer of moisturisation for the skin. Medium-sized HA goes deeper into the middle layer of the skin to hold moisture due to its high water retention ability. Super HA is twice of Medium-sized water retaining ability, therefore being able to store the water in the middle of the epidermis. Lastly, with Nano HA, fine molecule size of 1/20 of HA, easily penetrates into the deeper layer of the skin and provides deep hydration.
Hada Labo’s intensive research in this area allowed them to come up with the HPP&M Hydration Technology that allows these 4 types of HA to work together to deeply hydrate your skin.
Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion
When I first applied it onto my skin, it felt like water, followed by a tad stickiness but soon after, it just feels weightless on my skin! From what I understand, the stickiness you will experience initially is due to the high level of HA in the product!
Hada Labo Hydrating Essence
Used after the hydrating lotion, this essence works like a booster which promises 3x more hydration throughout the day, making it an essential product for me during this crazy heat wave.
Tip: The best way to use Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion and Essence is by patting the product gently onto your skin. Patting the product in aids the absorption into the skin because the patting motion increases blood circulation. Make full use of your other Hada Labo products by patting too!
Think of Hada Labo lotion and essence as the daily first glass of water you need every morning to wake your skin up, and the restoration your skin needs every evening for overnight rejuvenation. There’s only so much you can do to improve your skin health, so why not give it the best?
Ok here’s comes the best part!
