As a lot of you may know, I am a HUGE fan of gel nails. Gorgeous colours and cute nail art… I can’t live without them! But the struggle is real when it comes to removing them. To be very honest, that’s the only thing I dislike about having gellish on. Of course, like what I mentioned in the video about having weak and brittle nails, that will only happen if your manicurist is super rough and unskillful so always make sure you go to a reputable and reliable nail parlour/manicurist! Uh wait…. Video? Did someone mention video?! Heh yes!

If you hate the idea of all that buffing and rough handling of your nails then you will definitely thank me for this! I did a video with Sally Hansen on their new and improved Miracle Gel recently and basically, this new miracle gel gives you the 2x volume and shine that you get from gel nails but without the need for UV light because it is made to cure in natural light!

This means that it dries by itself, looks and feels like gel nails, last longer than your normal nail polishes but yet you are still able to remove them by using your normal nail polish removers! It really is the closest thing to a salon gel manicure at home.

Albeit a little harder to remove as compared to your normal nail polishes, but still way easier than your gel manicure! No need to soak and buff off, just got to be a teeny bit more patient! How convenient?

Together with their new yummy colours, you can easily switch it up to match your outfits especially during this festive period! Hey… A girl is vain and her nails gotta match her outfits for different events and occasions ok?

For the month of December only, there will be 6 limited edition holiday collection duo packs that screams festivity and sparkles! All packsets comes with a free miracle gel top coat. If you must know, my favourites are In A Flurry (gorgeous blue and silver glitter), Combustealable (perfect metallic teal) and Mad Women (dark and sexy magenta)!

It really is a simple 2 step colour + top coat process to achieve that salon-like gel nails!
Have fun being your own manicurist with Sally Hansen new Miracle Gel!

GUESS Girl Singapore Search

29 July 2015

Double-Knit Pointelle Dress c/o GUESS

I remember spending so many nights throughout my teenage years on google, keeping a look out for modelling auditions and castings, hoping for a chance and a shot at getting into the modelling and fashion industry. It wasn’t easy, especially when I knew exactly what kind of modelling competition I wanted to be in. And I’m pretty sure many of you girls (or your girlfriend/s) out there are going through the same thing. Well, here’s something for you.

For the first time, GUESS is holding a GUESS Girl Search in Singapore. The GUESS Girl Search started in North America and Japan in 2013, and spanned across to China in 2014. This year, they are holding a search in South East Asia so it is a pretty huge deal if you can make it. I mean, if under a different circumstances, I would totally give this a try. Who wouldn’t want to be the face of GUESS??!

You can either submit your photos online at from 1 July – 16 Aug OR head down to the recruitment roadshow on 1 Aug (this Saturday) from 11am – 3pm at Ion Sky Level 56. I’d suggest going down to the roadshow if you can make it because you will get professional photos taken by them and they will do final hair & make up touches for you prior to the audition shoot. And good photos are very important! Not to mention, the first 150 signups will also get to receive a goodie bag.

Fitting top and jeans/mini skirt ensemble, high heels & some light make up.

What happens next?

Top 40 hopefuls will be selected, followed by a screening process by the judges. Top 15 will be announced on the 28 Aug and this is when the public will be allowed to vote for their favourite GUESS Girl from 28 Aug – 13 Sep.

If you’re keen to give modelling a shot, this might just be your chance. I hesitated before and I lost my chance at a couple of auditions because I felt that I wasn’t good enough but really, that was just me finding excuses because I was scared. If you are not going to take the first step and give it a try, you will never know. Never stop chasing your dreams, girls.

I can’t wait to you girls during finals! Goodluck!
